Her Story

Before sending the mail, I paused for few minutes. Maybe i was crazy. This boy was fine, he was young, he was rich but he also had more red flags than a communist parade.

After several heartbreaks , i have learnt to trust my instincts.i knew he was seeing someone because there was this subtle reluctance on his part for me to reallyknow him  so the marriage proposal a few days ago came as a surprise. A pleasant one no doubt but still a surprise because we had been acquaintances for just two weeks.

i  did  not know where he lived, we  had never gone on a date before, i  was not sure if he was the kind of person i  wanted to be in a long term relationship with. i  really did not know anything. All I knew about him was what he was willing to show me which was almost nothing. It took more than sneaking into my house at night once a week for people to reveal their true colour and it took much more than that for me  to want to spend my  life with them.

I read the mail again, crossed my fingers and then clicked the send button...
                                                  Dadiowei...

My brother  whose yellow face is above dared me!!! He said i am only good at writing stories about women and love!!! Can you imagine? That is a slap so am taking him up on it with a series entitled Security, Fantasy and Freedom.  Every week i will be posting stories about the diary/ activities  of a bachelor and spinster. Hope you like it...

When it takes a long  time for somethings to happen, you begin to think that it may never happen.  God has a Sense of Humour took 4 years to complete. This was very strange because The Perfect Church that gave me relative stardom and no money was completed in 6 hours. But honestly, I am grateful that the book came out today and not when i thought it was ready. I hope you get hold of a copy and read.
